Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band Announce UK Tour

Live Nation and Hampton Court has today announced that Ringo Starr will be hitting the road this June for six very special UK dates with his All Starr Band, including a show at the Liverpool Empire Theatre on Saturday 18 June 2011.

Since beginning his career with The Beatles in the 1960s, Ringo Starr has been one of the world's brightest musical luminaries. He has enjoyed a successful and dynamic solo career as a singer, songwriter and drummer, an active musical collaborator, and as an actor. Drawing inspiration from classic blues, soul, country, honky-tonk and rock 'n' roll, Ringo continues to play an important role in modern music with his solo recording and touring.

Ringo Starr's music, as a solo artist and as a Beatle, is permeated with his personality. His warmth and humor, and his exceptional musicianship have given us songs we all know and love, including "With A Little Help From My Friends," "Don't Pass Me By," "Octopus' Garden," "Photograph," "It Don't Come Easy," "Back Off Boogaloo," "You're Sixteen (You're Beautiful And You're mine)," "Don't Go Where the Road Don't Go," "The No No Song," and "Never Without You."

These shows are set to be one of the highlights of the 2011 live calendar and tickets are bound to fly out the door, so don’t miss your chance to see one of music’s all time greats live at the Liverpool Empire.

Tickets go onsale 9am on Friday 4th March 2011 priced at £60.00 / £55.00 (subject to booking fee) and are available from LiverpoolEmpire.org.uk. Venue Box Office open at 12pm

JANUARY 2011
Chi Gung Classes are running well, and also just started a Spiritual development group.

DECEMBER 2010
I'm back after light years of travel through hyper-space, learning and experiencing the ancient rituals, the cosmic wheel, the hurricanes and solar winds from a far off nebulae, the great shifting of astromonical tides - the vermillion deserts and jewelled forests of other planes and planets, through electric madness and asteroid storms, black holes, exploding galaxies, supernovae, red dwarfs, influence of anti-matter, fantemattir, through solar flares, past the rabbit in the moon, back again on course now through the galaxies of love and light to beam down to your beloved Terra Earth Base 1.
Last Chi Gung/Meditation class of the year will be held at the Friends on Monday 20th December at 7 30pm

Thirty years ago on the 8th of December John Lennon was shot dead by a deranged 'fan', Mark Chapman after seeking the ex Beatles autograph near his New York apartment.

I was interviewed by The Times of Malta while I was attending a memorial exhibition to John Lennon and The Beatles.
Here is part of the article:

The Times spoke to Ringo Starr's cousin and tracked down personalities and undying fans to relive the moment the heard the news.

Half-Maltese, half-English, Paul Bennett is the second cousin of the Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. He was living in Liverpool, the home of the legend, when it happened.

"I remember it was a shock to everybody in Liverpool. It's like one of those things you dont believe has happened. Everybody in Liverpool is a Beatles fan one way or another, just like everybody in Malta is a Roman Catholic, so it was a big shock to the whole area".
"Liverpool is very much a communty orientated city, and the Beatles were a big part of that. Losing John Lennon was like having your arm cut off. People went out on to the streets on the day and I remember in Mathew Street (home of the Cavern where the Beatles first met their manager, Brian Epstien) a lot of tributes were laid out. I remember looking at the letters, many of them grieving and asking questions like, why?"

I will be back soon and be running the last Chi Gung/Meditation sesssion of the year on Monday the 20th of December at the Friends at 7 30pm, you will be very welcome.

Regular Classes for 2011 will begin on Thursday the 5th of January, see you there!

JULY 2010
We've just had our first Taoist Kundalini Meditation workshop. It went down very well, a powerfull but safe technique practiced by some schools of Taoism in the mountain monasteries of China.

Here are some of the comments from the class paticipants:

Pure bliss, a touch of heaven.

Powerfull meditation technique, bringing in much divine light and sound, fabulous!

                                             MAY  2010
Back in the UK now, classes running as normal, I do miss that warm Malta weather though!
In Malta we now have a meditation group up and running and are meeting regulary.

 APRIL 2010
I have given three introductory talks on Mantra Meditation which consisted of a talk on the theory of Mantra Meditation followed by a taster of the Mantra Meditation technique.

I Have also been running regular chi gung and kundalini yoga classes at The Isis Centre for Creativity twice a week which have been warmly welcomed and appreciated by the Maltese islanders and ex-pats alike.

The weather has been great, the people are friendly, I would recommend this island to anyone who wanted a break from 'old blighty' and greyish skies.

MARCH 2010
I'm off to Malta in mid March for a mixture of things. I've been asked to teach Mantra Meditation in Mosta, an old town I used to live in, which I am much looking forward to. I will also use the opportunity while I am there to do more advanced work on myself.
I will also be meeting up with all my old friends and new over tea and enjoying the coming of spring on this lovely island.

NOVEMBER 2009

16th November    Classes have started up again on the Wirral, nice to be back.

Really enjoying being out in Malta in October/November teaching meditation in Attard at the famous Hotel Corinthia and also at Le Maritime in Mellieha. Wonderful to see all my friends again.

While here in Malta I had the opportunity to practise Chi Gung with Shaolin monks from the well known

Shaolin Monastery in Hunan province in China.

P.S. The Shaolin Monastery,Kung fu and Chi Gung came to prominence in the 1970's tv series, 'Kung Fu' starring David Carradine which ran for 4 years with about 65 episodes.

SEPTEMBER 2009
Started teaching meditation in Claughton in Birkenhead in a group basis. Currently working with 6 students and getting great feedback from them who tell me they are benefiting enormously from the Mantra Meditation practice.
